Several Swiss companies are involved in russian and stolen Ukrainian grain exports.
As a result of the systematic pillage of Ukrainian grain, which is either passed off as Russian grain or mixed with it, Russian grain trade poses an increased risk. Due to their forced withdrawal from Russia, Swiss traders are no longer in control of the procurement, storage and loading of the grain. Instead, they buy it from Russian exporters to sell it on the world market.
Intelligence Online reported numerous import-export dockets for cereals from Russia and Ukraine. Big and small traders in Switzerland are highlighting the business they do for Ukraine but trading more discreetly in Russian cereals at the same time.
The grain trade from the Black Sea region is dominated by international trading houses; however, since the war in Ukraine, it has also been increasingly controlled by Russian companies.
